SOURCING NOTES / PRACTICAL GUIDANCE

THE DETAILS
BEHIND THE DECISION.

Practical notes on preparing a sourcing enquiry. General guidance, not live market data or binding advice.

01

Net is not drained

For canned products, distinguish the total declared contents from the solid product weight. Ask for both before comparing quotations.

02

A quotation needs a boundary

Confirm which packaging, loading and documentation items the price includes. Record currency, trade term, named place and validity.

03

Leave unknowns visible

Writing “not confirmed” is better than guessing a specification. Resolve missing information before treating a requirement as quotation-ready.
